Last Train from Lake Placid

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad drove most, but not all, of its rolling stock out of Lake Placid this morning.

The last train to run on the tracks between Lake Placid and Tupper Lake left this morning and passed through Beaver River at 8.35 this evening.  Assuming the Department of Envioronmental Conservation continues it plas the tracks on which it ran will be gone by summer.  It is unclear how the few remaining cars in Lake Placid (a caboose, a freight car, and a camper car) will be removed, possibly by a tow engine or truck.
