Rails removed

Rails between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid have been removed

The first stage of construction of the Adirondack Rail Trail* has been completed with the removal of the rails along the 34-mile corridor between Lake Placid and Tupper Lake.  Construction of the trial will take place once necessary permitting is complete.  In the interim the trail is open for hiking and mountain biking (fat tires recommended).
