Parks & Trails Letter to the Governor

Parks and Trails New York asks Governor Cuomo to appeal the court ruling and/or revise the State Land Use Master Plan to accommodate rail-trails.

In a letter dated October 23, 2017, Robin Dropkin, Executive Director of Parks and Trails New York (PTNY) said that PTNY "staunchly supports the creation of an Adirondack Rail-Trail between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid and the compromise reached last year that resulted in the UMP amendment".   She called for "quick and decisive action" to resolve the impasse, "whether it's appealing the ruling by Franklin County Supreme Court Justice Robert Main Jr. or rewording the State Land Master Plan and re-opening the UMP process".   A copy of her letter is linked here.
